Historical Excursions contains forty-five stories taken from the historical books of the Holy Bible: Joshua through Esther. The Books of Joshua through Esther are referred to as the historical books of the Bible as they tell the story of the Israelites from the time of their occupation of the Promised Land through to the rise and fall of the Kingdom of Judah and eventually, the return of the exiles and the rebuilding of Jerusalem in the Persian period.
